VARIOUS ARTISTS – Increase The Peace Vol 5 (SUNDAY BEST)

Rob Da Bank’s Sunday Best label deliver the 5th instalment in their occasional series ‘Increase The Peace’. This compilation is used to showcase some of the best music that is forthcoming on the label, plus a few hand picked gems from the label’s back catalogue. The good news is they do it at an amazing price of £4.99 for all 12 tracks on I Tunes, so it really is fantastic value as well and being a great bunch of tracks. So looking at the track listing a couple of very good previously released tracks stand out to me that were very big for me personally, starting with the incredible Underworld mix of David Lynch’s ‘Good Day Today’ which to me sounded as good as a good Underworld track! Also Jamie Woon’s remix of ‘Best Intentions’ from The Sound Of Rum, who I’m also a big fan of. Then my pick of the other stuff on here includes: Beardyman’s ‘Twist Your Ankal’ with ‘Al Jolson’s Pondering Minstral Edit’, a great track with a heavy percussive, African influence and my other pick is Grand National with ‘Drink To Moving On’ a really smooth, warm track with nice guitars and vocals. Great compilation and amazing value for money! [PG]
